Ian Hill hasn't gotten a decent night's sleep in years. While most teenagers are happily asleep, Ian is battling his nightmares in a horribly vivid dreams, so realistic that they are actually physically draining. Finally, on his sixteenth birthday, he's sick of it. That's when he finds one of those 'mumbo-jumbo' free offers in the mail containing a strange spiral-shaped amulet claiming to cure insomnia and bad dreams. He takes it, albeit without a fair share of doubt.
The amulet doesn't cure Ian of his mad dreams, but it certainly does something. Rather than running on autopilot in the dream world, Ian is granted control and a menagerie of incredible abilities. But these awesome powers come with a price: He's suddenly the target of a mysterious group called Kat...and the sidekick of a scatterbrained classmate? Welcome to the Dreamscape, Ian.
