Once upon a time, on a computer far, far away, a young woman was poking disdainfully at a series of websites scattered across the web, each holding a small portion of her works. There was a website for art, there was a website for writing, there was a website for her blog, there was a website for chatting, there was a website for role-play, and a whole menagerie of other websites containing random tidbits of her life. After years of working like this, passing from website to website like a tumbleweed, she was fed up with it. She was learning small amounts of HTML and she knew a thing or two about the workings of the web.
On August 15, 2007, I finally hosted my website for the first time on the internet on Website Spot or some other nonsense web host. It was, to put it bluntly, gross. It was riddled with advertisements that I did not ask for, had little-to-no features, and it was nigh impossible to work on. (Yes, I know, Dragongale has ads now, but I assure you the google ads are there because I want them to be. They're not nearly as intrusive as the old ads.) It didn't take long before I was tired of that, so I moved Dragon Gale to Dreamhost, which, I must say, if fifty-million times better. (By the way, if you sign up on Dreamhost, use the promotional code 'dragongale'. It'll score you a $50 discount as a present to you from me.)
Dragon Gale was originally meant as a place to show-case my own art, writing, and whatnot, but, after moving, I decided that Dragon Gale should be for everyone. As more people flock in, more content will be added until Dragon Gale blooms into the website it's meant to be. Currently, to support such a community, Dragon Gale is host to a forum, a wiki, a gallery, and a chat board, so feel free to use them to your heart's content!
My name is Maddy, also known as Hali, Gemini, or Muse, and I'm the the admin of Dragon Gale. I'm currently seventeen years old, a junior in high school, and a computer geek in a small town otherwise devoid of techies. I'm first-and-foremost a writer, an artist-in-training, a casual role-player, and a jack-of-all-trades (which, as most know, is followed by 'master of none').
